Texas gives you two years to sue and six months to tell a city you were hurt. San Antonio adds a third set of rules again, because a large share of the people injured here are serving in the military or are their families.

The limitation period is two years from the day the claim accrues, under section 16.003 of the Civil Practice and Remedies Code, and a claim against a governmental unit needs written notice within six months under section 101.101 of the Tort Claims Act. That covers the City of San Antonio, Bexar County and VIA Metropolitan Transit alike.
What San Antonio has that no other market in this directory does is the military. Joint Base San Antonio is the largest joint base in the country, and a claim involving the federal government is not a Texas claim at all. It runs under the Federal Tort Claims Act, which requires an administrative claim to the agency first and gives two years to present it, with a separate six-month clock once the agency answers.
A separate doctrine bars an active-duty service member from suing the government for injuries incident to service at all, and that line is genuinely technical: a car crash on base and a car crash on the way to base can fall on opposite sides of it. A firm that handles these regularly will say so, and it is worth asking directly.
Bexar County hears civil cases in its district courts downtown, and federal matters go to the Western District of Texas, San Antonio Division.
We list firms whether they ask us to or not, and everything on a profile is read from the outside: the firm's own site, its Google listings, its state's attorney register. That means we get things wrong, and the person who can see it is the firm. Claiming your profile is free, and so is every correction. The annual listing adds a dofollow link to your site, your own logo on your profile and the client reviews you want quoted. Neither moves a single point of the score.
